William Horst Cheesesteak Sliders
William Horst over at @hooked_on_bbq is serving up some incredible Cheesesteak Sliders with Truffle Cheese Sauce for your Super Bowl party!
Slider Ingredients
- 3 tbsp of butter
- Beef tallow
- Vidalia onions
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic
- Pretzel roll slider buns
- Provolone cheese, or, homemade Truffle Cheese (see ingredients below)
Truffle Cheese Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 cups of milk
- 4 oz of Gruyère
- 4 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Slider Instructions
- Setup your Primo grill with the griddle accessory. This is my favorite because it's so versatile. You want the griddle surface to be 450°F.
- Add 3 tablespoons of butter.
- Add some beef tallow and the sliced Vidalia onions to your griddle. Once the onions start to sweat down add your shaved ribeye steak.
- Add salt, pepper, and garlic to your beef. Keep the flavor simple.
- We are using pretzel roll sliders, they are perfect for this as it gives a touch of sweetness and that salty flavor.
- You could use some sliced provolone cheese but if you want to amp up the flavor try this Truffle Cheese sauce.
Truffle Cheese Sauce Instructions
- Melt 3 tbsp of butter.
- Add 3 tbsp of flour to create a roux.
- Add 2 Cups of milk.
- Whisk together 4 oz of Gruyère and Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
- Stir until melted and thickened.
Chef's Notes
Put cheese on the sliders and dip them in the sauce for the full effect! We don't judge!
